Gratitude
In whatever place you find yourself today, you can choose:
– to be happy or sad…
– to be worried to trust…
– to complain or be grateful…
– to grumble or be thankful…
What’s it going to be?
What are you looking at?
Your disposition really depends on what you’re looking at
On what you’re focused on
Change your focus
Focus on the things you should be grateful about
Focus on the little treasures money can’t buy
Focus on the things we sometimes take for granted
It sounds like a cliché, but while we think they are the norm
While we think clean drinking water is normal
Or clean air is normal
Or commuting to work is no big deal
We forget there’s someone at the moment who feels clean water is a luxury
Who will give anything to breathe unaided
Who can’t even get to work anymore and has to hide away for safety
Do things sometimes happen that make us question everything we believe in? Yes.
Do we sometimes feel the pressure to despair? Yes.
Should we give in? No.
Choose gratitude.
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Melody Beattie
